Whirlpool Glass Top Gas Hob

We bought a Whirlpool Glass Top 5-Burner Gas Hob, Model GOA9523, in April 23. The hob functioned very well, but 14 months after the purchase date, the glass top literally shattered. This happened while there was only one pot on the stove. We submitted a claim under the 24 month warranty. Whirlpool/KIC asked to see the Certificate of Compliance (CoC) and then also sent a technician from Durban to examine the installation. The company then gave us a full credit and we were able to get a new hob. This time we bought one with a steel top. The company was slow in attending our claim, leaving us without a stove for two weeks. Whirlpool/KIC did, however, act reasonably and in fairness and we are happy with the outcome. According to other reviews, this problem with the whirlpool glass tops is a recurring one. We would therefore not recommend the Glass Top model of the Whirlpool gas stoves
