********* service by Whirlpool
I purchased my hob/oven on 20 July 2013, which literally means that the items are still under warranty.

On 20 January 2015, the hotplate on the hob made a noise, burnt out and the electricity went out. Because I live in a complex, the electricity went out in 3 other homes as well. There was no option but to remove the hotplate, failing which would have resulted in 4 homes being without lights, etc.

On 21 January 2015, I called the Whirlpool call centre & logged a service call (ref. no. WJ017395). I was promised a technician with 48 hours , but the technician only came on 27 January 2015. When I logged the service call, I was totally honest that the hotplate had to be removed and the person attending to my call agreed.

When the technician arrived At approximately 10:30 on 27/01/2015, he refused to assist with repairing the stove and his reason was the removal of the hotplate. He took a picture and said that management will decide what to do. After he left, I immediately called Whirlpool & was promised a replacement hob.

Now Whirlpool refuse to fix/replace my hob and say that I lost my warranty because the technician said it was misuse of the product.
