Terrible Product / Terrible service
Whirlpool products look the part, but they do not last and require servicing and parts more often than the other brands that we have had. More specifically we purchased a Dishwasher (one of the higher range models) and around 12 months into ownership we found that we were getting electric shocks from the inside of the dishwasher when touching it to either empty or fill. We eventually called in a technician, which cost us around R300 for the call out fee, and he said it was the plug in our home. After much discussion with our builder and him proving to us that this was not actually the problem, we eventually got the technician back and he admitted that it was not the plug, and that he believed that it was the Internal Control of the machine that was causing the problem. 2 weeks later the part was replaced, another R300 later. We then attempted to run a machine and error after error. It has now been 3 weeks and Whirlpool, firstly are telling us that we need to pay for another call out, and secondly still do not have the part that was apparently requested by the technician. They are awaiting this from Europe. Don't buy Whirlpool, they do not have the backup for their products.
