Poor Ethics

Installed in my kitchen is a Whirlpool gas hob and fitted electric oven. The hob has been installed over the electric oven. The gas hob has electronic ignition and both hob and and oven appear to share the same electric source. After the frequent load sheddings and despite have a new gas cylinder (which is fine as it serves my jet master grate which works normally), the hob would not ignite. I phoned Whirlpool as I would like to know if it is surge damage, as my insurance policy covers this. I was told the call out fee was R550, but when the clerk who answered the phone learned that it was not a free standing stove, but two separate units, she informed me it would be two call out fees , totalling R1100!. Needles to say i declined as I do not appreciate ******ion and have contacted my Insurance Broker to send an assessor.
