damaged 6th sense microwave and oven

I bought a 6th sense microwave (AMW848IX) for R6999 and an eye-level oven (AKZM656) for R7999 end of 2012 and just after the 2 year warranty elapsed both appliances are switching on but they are not warming up. All you can do with the appliances is to switch them on. The microwave will not warm food and the oven will not heat up.<br> For the microwave I had to pay a R600 call out fee in order to get a R4311.48 quote for fixing it since it is out of warranty. And this is even more than half the price I paid for the unit. I have not received a quote for the oven as I will have to cough out another R600 to get another exorbitant amount on the quotation. I called the customer complaints and the response I get was more like tough luck your warranty has lapsed you have to repair it yourself. I as a consumer fail to understand how such expensive units and assumable high quality appliances could both pack up just after 2 years which is the warranty period. I feel that the quality of these appliances from whirlpool is questionable. <br>
