COMPLAINT AGAINST WHIRLPOOL
I bought my Whirlpool Clear Simple 13Kg washing machine from OK Furnisher, Vredenburg on 28/02/2019 with a 2 year warranty. I contacted OK Furnishers on the 19th January 2021 informing them that my washing machine is giving problems in thus that it would wash, rerun water and not spin. They said that they would report it to Whirlpool and get a technician out to have a look at my washing machine. I received an sms from Whirlpool on the 20th January 2021 informing me that a call was logged with reference KJ219578 and that a Technician would come out on 21/01/21. The Technician never arrived on the said date as they only service Saldanha on a Tuesday and Thursday even though D & B Refrigeration repairs are only about 13km away from Saldanha. I met the Technician at my house on 26/01/21 at about 15h30. He tried to convince me that it was my level and I explained to him that it was not as I now how to read the level gadget. He then opened the back of my machine and reset the tensioner (not even 15 minutes). The following day I washed a load and the my machine threw out an error EA. I contacted OK Furnisher as well as B&D Refrigeration repair and they undertook to send a Technician out. The Technician came out on the 2nd February 2021 and saw the error code reflecting on my machine but did not know what the code was for. She tried to get hold of her office and Whirlpool to find out wat the code was for, but to no avail. I googled the code and the error was to replace the censor and PC Board. I was fuming and asked her why the previous Technician could not pick the problem up on his previous booking. She told me that the part would take about 2 to 3 weeks to obtain from Whirlpool if they have stock. In the meantime I was in contact with Whirlpool on a daily basis. I spoke to a few ladies but in particular with a certain Allison. She was phoning the Technician to find out what was going on and she told her that they were still waiting for the part from Whirlpool. According to Allison Whirlpool had to receive the Technicians report before the could comment and inform my accordingly. I was told that the call out was complete and I informed her that they never fixed my machine as the error code was still the same. A new call out number was allocated to me. The parts were only dispatched on Monday, 22/02/21 and they came to repair my washing machine on Tuesday, 23/02/21. When I opened my washing machine it had a lot of black “papers”, which I cannot get rid of. I never had this before they replaced the parts. I cleaned my washing machine and found that it is very noisy when it is washing and spinning, which was not case before they replaced the parts. I phoned DB Refrigeration Repairs and was told that they would speak to the Technician and then phone me back. They never phoned me back so I phoned them and the lady informed me that according to the Technician my washing machine needs a service and he does not think that it falls under the warrantee. I immediately phoned Allison at Whirlpool and she informed me that she would only be able to get back to me as soon as she is in receipt of the Technician’s report. I have had enough of Whirlpool and OK Furnishers pathetic service. It was the first time that I bought any Whirlpool appliance and vouch never ever to do that again and I will also recommend my family and friends to avoids this label at all costs as their after sales service is the WORST. I had to take my washing to a laundromat twice a week despite the COVID 19 situation and my husband having comorbidities and it costing me an arm and a leg to have the washing done there. The gentleman and manageress at OK Furnisher informed me that it is not their problem and that Whirlpool would most likely not reimburse me due to their very poor workmanship and aftercare sales. I am also going to report this matter to the Consumer Board and take the matter further. It is impossible to get hold of Whirlpool Head Office.
