BROKEN TOP LOADED NOT BEING FIXED

We bought a Whirlpool top loaded on 22/11/2018. A month ago it started giving problems. The mechanic said it is the gearbox and the machine should be replaced. Since then I have been battling getting them to just fix it. Due to health issued I cannot do the washing by hand and our water consumption went through the roof due to this broken machine I have to struggle with. All I get form Whirlpool is excuses and no action.
