I paid a deposit of R15 000 and arranged to pay the rental of R15 000 before arrival on the 1st May 2015. I contacted the owner as she had not confirmed receipt of the deposit and was advised that I had paid the rental and as she had not received the deposit my booking was not confirmed. To avoid conflict I just paid the next amount. On arriving she would not book me in until I signed a new form stating only 1 person could stay and further that she could deduct costs off my credit card. My original booking was for a husband commuting and student children staying on weekends hence the two room booking. She advised she would deduct costs from my deposit for them staying. I refused to sign this new form with new terms and she kicked me off the property with my car keys still locked in her reception. She was threatening by reversing her car towards me and trying to close me inside the property. She has R30 000 paid in good faith and she had no intention of me ever staying. The whole place is shut up so we cannot collect the car keys. I had to arrange Woodfords bring me spare keys and she advised it is not her problem. She refuses to return my deposit/rental or book me in.
