Bad service experience
I bought a new Isuzu Serengeti 3l TD DC in October 2015 for myself with a 90 000km service plan. All services had been done up until 75 000km service.I discovered that the front wheel disc brakes started to shadder and interfered with the steering system when brakes were app**** on downhill as the brakes became overheated. To me as the owner of this vehicle, brakes are there for safety reasons and important to operate at 100% at all times.
With the 75 000km service I complained about the brakes and requested Wesvaal Delta Welkom to repair the brake problem during the service. The response I got from Wesvaal Delta Welkom was according to the small print in the Warranty Manual they do not cover problems on brakes. They offered to skim the discs at their own cost.
With my knowledge on vehicle repairs,to skim the brakes will be more dangerous. It also came to my attention that the material used to manufacture these brakes was a fabric fault and a number of people were aware of this. One of my fleet vehicles which is also a 2.5 LDV had the same braking problems were repaired with new brakes which the company had to pay for. As the director of S Automac Services, we bought 7 Isuzu LDV's for our fleet from Wesvaal Delta Welkom during the years of which my Serangeti for R 700 000.00 was one of them.
With this bad experience, I will in future not make any deals with Wesvaal Delta Welkom or any other Isuzu dealer ever again
