poor service from westvaal Mokopane
The purchase was signed on 29 February 2024 with Westvaal Mokopane. The deal was done with Representative Quintin du Toit telephonically, who was assured that the vehicle was in excellent condition and had undergone a full pre-sale service inspection. However, two days after receiving it, I noticed the service register was not filled in and stamped. I called the dealer representative Quintin du Toit asked him why the service book was not stamped, or written, and promised to send proof of service. The dealer only sent Today, 4 July 2024, an invoice, which could have been backdated. When it rained two days after the car's arrival, the wipers malfunctioned. I contacted Quentin, and he instructed me to purchase new wipers and promised a refund, which was honored. Two weeks later after the delivery of the vehicle, my wife called Westvaal Mokopane and spoke to the service manager Chris Storm because the vehicle struggled to start, and the remote often displayed messages like "insert key" or "key not detected." The workshop manager suggested that the remotes should be kept far apart as they might interfere with each other and advised replacing the batteries if the problem persisted. Despite changing the batteries, the boot would not open with the remote, and its shocks failed to hold it open, necessitating holding it up manually. That shows us that the pre-inspection most probably was not done. If it were done the shock and mechanical issues would have been shown by the computer that they plugged into the vehicle On 2 July 2024, the vehicle would not start at all. We contacted the dealer again spoke to Quitin Du Toit, and they suggested checking the battery. Midas in Ventersdorp confirmed the battery was dated 28/2/24 but that was not the issue. The dealer then speculated it might be the alternator or the starter. Consequently, my insurance took the car to Westvaal Klerksdorp for further inspection. The Westvaal Klerksdorp service dept called us this morning 4 July 2024 to inform us that it is the starter of the vehicle, The service manager said that Westvaal Mokopane said it is for our pocket to pay. The original starter will be proximately R15000.00 and the non-original R5000.00. Just want to mention that when we bought the Isuzu High Rider KB 250 new in 2018 it had a 3-year 100 000km guarantee. There was a problem with a bracket that held the bulbar attached and broke for no reason whatsoever, we contacted the same dealer Westvaal Mokopane and they refused to replace the part, they said it was for my account. I had to phone and get Isuzu SA Head Office involved. In the end, they were instructed by Isuzu SA to replace. Then a mechanic of Westvaal Potchefstoom came out to our house to replace it. The sales manager who did the sale with us, assured us with the sale that the Kia Sorento 2010 has a Full-service record, and the vehicle was inspected thoroughly, as mentioned previously nothing was written in the vehicle maintenance or service book. With my investigation, I noted there are numerous complaints against the Westvaal Group, on Hello Peter. It shows that it is not only us that have complaints against this group branches, but looks like a pattern follows.
