Poor service delivery and no accountability
After buying a bakkie from Westvaal in Somerset west in May 2022, I've been having endless problems. The salesmen promise excellent aftermarket services, but that is non-existent and complaints never get sorted 100%. They are SO eager to sell a vehicle, and then it's all downhill from there.
I spoke to three different dealer principals (yes, they have a fast staff turnover), and each one tries to sort the **** the previous one didn't sort out. There were meetings scheduled with a regional manager from Isuzu South Africa, where a list of vehicle problems and complaints were handed over, yet very little has been seen to.
The first year the bakkie had to go for new brakes (which should not be a problem in the first year), under carriage noises present (they cannot determine what's the problem), scratches on roof after fitting on new roof racks, OneNav radio fitted only seven months after purchase and payment. Sidesteps were to be fitted after bakkie purchase, but only materialised after a few months. Always an excuse when they cannot meet their promises and deadlines, blame shifted from one person to the other. And the service book is nowhere to be found now, not even a replacement made available.
How do they justify their bad service? Is it race or wealth related? Money makes the world go round, seems like that is the case at Westvaal Somerset West. I challenge anyone there to prove me wrong. This post touches on a few problems only, leaving a bitter taste in my mouth after I have paid more than R500k for a bakkie.
