Westgate Auto - be carefull
Bought a VW Polo from them. I enquired and asked if the vehicle is accident free. I took their word for it.
km at that stage was 138 000km. April 2022 - picked up an error in that first month of driving it-which i informed them. A few months or so after that i started getting problems(Aug 2022) They inspected the car and said it was fixed. Then a week later again the error. I informed them what I researched the problem was. They then replaced the gear selector only after I insisted. I actually wanted to cancel the deal. Still waiting for the original vw invoice I requested from them, to make sure the installed the real deal.
In June 2023 I reversed into a small trailer and got the small dent fixed through my insurance. Also had to respray the left passanger door because of poor workmanship from them(Westgate Auto), when I bought it they told me this had to be done because of scratch on the door - now after a year the paint started to crack. A week after I got the vehicle back I drove on the highway and my bottom bracket holding the radiator in place from underneath the car just came loose. I stopped at the panelbeater and they informed me that that bracket has been plastic welded and that the car was in an accident in the front. They showed me in the bonnet that it is not even original *****s that was used and sprayed.
Look out before you buy there! Their word means nothing. And they just tell me that the car was fine when they delivered it to me. If I was in an accident it will show on my insurance. No I sit with a vehicle that is worth less and will lose a hell of alot because it was in an accident.
