DO NOT SUPPORT WEST RAND PANEL BEATERS ROODEPOORT

Friday 15th October someone on the phone bumped me from behind.

Monday 17th October I reported the accident to my insurance.

01.11.17, I was notified the claim is registered and an assessor has been appointed.

15.11.16 The accessors report has been received and sent to the insurer for authorisation.

22.11.17 The insurers authorization have been received and sent to the panelbeaters for work to be done at R21 510.

05.12.17 I was notified that I could take my car in for repairs to West Rand Panel beaters in Roodepoort. However, being the time of year and due to my car still being in a drivable condition, I requested to move this repair to end January. This was accepted by all.

24.01.17 I contacted my insurance to start arrangements for all the necessary to have my car booked in at West Rand Panel beaters in Roodepoort. I mentioned that I would drop the car on 30th January, 2017. I have learned that this was merely a 7 day job. However, as long as I had a hired vehicle, it did not really matter as I was privy to 30 days in the hired vehicle, however remembering the repairs only needed 7 days, so 30 days was not really necessary.

Two weeks went by no word on my car. Still in my mind I was ok because I had a hire vehicle.

After almost three weeks of my car being parked at West Rand Panel beaters, I only received 2 generic sms's from them to let me know where in line my car was.

16.02.17 I decide to send my husband to see how far the car was as now 28th February was drawing near. He was told and seen that the car was still far from completion. None-the-less it was only the 16th February at the time.

20/22/23/24.02.16 On these dates I called West Rand Panel Beaters several times to establish whether my car would be ready by 28th February, as I would need to return the hired car by 28th February. I was merely just told the same ol' same ol' that they will check and give me a call to let me know, which just never happens until I would call again and on one instance some raised arrogant voice from the General Manager Gerhard, re-iterating what I have been previously told that they waiting for a part, forgetting it has been there since 30th January, for a 7 day job only and when it comes they will let me know which never happens until I call again.

25.02.17 Being a Saturday, because I have just not heard from anyone with all the promises and with every hope I dialed the number of West Rand Panel Beaters to see if I can find out what is going on. To my surprise Monique answered the phone and had every excuse why they have not come back to me, but she will once again check and let me know soonest, which once again just did not happen.

27.02.17 My car is still not ready, the parts have still not arrived and I am liable to carry the incurring costs of a hire vehicle and it has nothing to do by any of my doing. I have just spoken to Gerhard the GM and he still does not have the parts that they are waiting for, this having my car for a month now and not having the decency to let me know amidst me calling time and time to establish the status. I could not understand how parts can take this long when they have been aware since November that my car will be coming to them to be repaired.

28.02.17 My car was still not ready and I had started incurring car hire costs.

I then threatened that I would collect my car, not pay the excess and when they have the awaited parts, I will bring the car in and sort out what needs to be sorted. I got call that afternoon, to say the car is ready I can collect and the excess is R3000. I went to collect and paid the excess, but found that the tail gate cover was missing and the beading was not affixed properly to the bumper. I was told they will order these and give me a call when to come in to have it repaired.

01.03.17 I sent a mail for record purposes to my insurer stating that the cover was missing and beading was not fixed properly and that it was on order and I will be notified when to bring the car in.

16.03.17 I notified my insurers that the tailgate cover which I recorded on 1 March which I have not received on collection, now two weeks later I have still not heard from WestRand Panelbeaters to date. The beading on my bumper remains loose and I have also still not heard from them as to when or how this will be fixed. Even though the senses were working when I took the car on 1 March, it has been noticed that the senses stopped working as they should.

29.03.17 I notified my insurers that I have still not heard from anyone which has been

hazardous to my safety. That afternoon I received a call from Monique of WestRand Panelbeaters obnoxious saying she had previously called me and left messages, which is not true and that I can bring my car in. I was so elated for this as now I knew all parts have been ordered and my car would be fixed properly once and for all and I can rid myself from all the frustration, to and fro and unnecessary expenses getting there and time needed to get there. Unfortunately I was unable to take the car immediately.

19.04.17 I called WestRand Panelbeaters to let them know I can take my car in between 19 and 20.04.17. I was told to rather bring the car in on 20th April as it will be all done and dusted by the afternoon. I then made the necessary arrangements and had the car dropped by 07h30 on the 20th April.

20.04.17 By 13h00 I started calling and the same ol’ same ol’ started up again. The cat and mouse “I will call you back” which just never happens. Eventually I get a call from Monique telling me the car wont be ready, the cover has been order and will only arrive the next day and the auto electrician could not make it on the 20th April. This made me crazy because I could not understand how I could be told two week prior to bring the car in, call and liaise on a best time and still nothing has been order to repair my car. I MEAN AGAIN. DID THEY NOT ORDER THIS PARTS INITIALLY and arrange with the electrician accordingly. I insisted on speaking to the owner, Mark Nagel, who I’m still awaiting a call from. At 16h00 Gerhard, with all his arrogance calls me, telling me I have to speak to him not the owner and also totally confused as to why I am getting so excited and why I took the car in the first place when it was not complete initially. After all my explaining, he closes off that they car will be ready tomorrow and he will call me.

21.04.17 Gerhard the GM calls me at 10h00 to tell me that the beading is fixed properly and complete and the tail gate/cover is on. The PDC box/modulator is not fixed as they had to order another one meaning I would need to bring my car back when the part arrived. As upset as I was, I agreed. He asked me when will I collect and I say at 15h00.

At 15h00 my husband and I pitch to collect. We waited until 15h25 when the car was brought around for us. On inspection, we detected that the tail gate/cover is not a fit, the paint is unmatched and it is not sprayed completely as you could still see the white on the inside. On touching it, because it was not a perfect fit, it fell into the bumper. When we opened the boot another surprise awaited us. The carpet was all ripped out and all other things laying in my boot which belonged to the inside of my car not put back and assembled where supposed have been. Photos were taken.

We then demanded a courtesy car and my car is still at West Rand Panel Beaters but for how much longer I would not know.

I cannot believe all this irritation for a very small repair. I would not want to imagine what happens with the bigger repairs and that is why I need everyone to know that West Rand Panel Beaters is definitely not a place where service is a priority, nor is making the client happy anywhere in there sphere. I have been bul****, my time and money wasted, my money (excess) taken and my intelligence undermined every time and completely so. West Rand Panel Beaters is just not the place for anyone to take their vehicle to and this needs to be known. My experience was totally appalling
