Expensive, no compassion, problem not resolved
I took my 9-year-old Dachshund to West Rand Emergency Clinic for infected anal glands. After the consultation we were charged R2600 and had to pay before leaving. The glands were not expressed properly. One week later she is hunched, straining to ****, and clearly still in pain. There was zero compassion shown for her or for us as worried owners. The focus felt entirely on payment. For R2600 I expected the issue to be treated properly. Instead we now have to pay for a recheck and further treatment elsewhere. I cannot recommend this clinic.

Emergency clinic my ***. Vet Christina didn't even touch my dog, kept on saying "she needs puppy food" after a trying to explain that my dog had undergo an Enterectomy due to obstruction at PDSA (would rather have gone back if PDSA operated on Sundays). Since her operation she has been under strict supervision and care from the Snr Vet at PDSA and are we taking good care of her, BUT she does not want to eat, NOTHING, mince, chicken, puppy food, regular food, rice, you name it she refuses it. TRYING TO EXPLAIN THIS TO CHRISTINA WAS FRUITLESS. She did nothing but hang on to the counter at reception as if she did not have a spine. I KNOW YOU ARE A PRIVATE PRACTICE YET YOU ARE AN EMERGENCY VET refusing to see a sick animal. The grinn on your face showed total ************** against PDSA and the work they do.

Dog abuse
To whom it may concern, I took my dog Zoey (bullterrier) to your emergency clinic on Saturday night because she was sick. What I don't understand is why the hell does my dog look like this photos attached she never had any scars on her nose and feet and look at what she looks like after she was at your animal clinic. And on top of that I still had to pay for treatment. I am a paying client and you treat my dog like ****? Taping her mouth shut? Was that necessary? And this after she just gave birth to puppies!!!! 1. Because they bound her mouth she came home totally traumatized due to not being able to breathe or drink and eat. 2. We were informed to look for follow up from another vet. 3. They had no back up calcium medication. 4. The attending Vet who ever she was had no knowledge and kept us totally baffled as to what to do. 5. For what Zoey received for the amount we paid can not be justified. 6. Unqualified people should not attend to animals as the hurt them more than healing them.
