<p>Extremely unhappy with the poor level of service from West Power Steering. They supposedly replaced the power steering pump on my vehicle, but I suspect they used pirate parts. They "repaired" it after I complained that it is not working properly. It is still not working, the pipes are leaking and the steering is stiff. I asked for a refund, but I was given the runaround; asked to call or email the manager whom I am certain doesn't exist.</p> <p> </p> <p>*****S – Do not trust!!!</p> <p>I took my car in earlier this year for a power steering pump replacement at West Power Steering in Pretoria. They quoted me R4500 for a new pump + installation. This sounded like a good deal but what a mistake this turned out to be.</p> <p>After they “replaced” the pump, I immediately noticed that the pump is making even more noises that before. The original problems with the pump was not solved. I then took the car back to them twice after that. The first time they replaced the fluid (which should not be necessary with a brand new pump) and the second time they supposedly replaced my new pump with another new pump. This was a lie as I secretly marked the pump and found that the pump was not replaced. Needless to say, no problems were resolved.</p> <p>I confronted them to give me a refund. This simply fell on death ears. I was told to send a “Renier” an email, whom to this day I believe does not really exist as I could never talk to him and never received any correspondence back from him.</p> <p>I then took in my car to a reputable Audi workshop who told me that it is likely that they simply refurbished the original pump (if that) and then sold it back to me as a new pump. According to them there is no way you can buy that pump for under R8000. In essence I paid R4500 to get my own pump back, just in a worse condition. I then had to replace my pump again with the Audi workshop to get all problems resolved.</p> <p>The moral of the story, if it sounds too good to be true, it always is…</p>
