Dishonesty

My Friend and I went to Lonehill Westpack to buy a mop. As we approached the store, we took note of the mop price advertised for R139.99 on the outside of the shop.

The cashier scanned the mop and she advised that the mop costs R179.90. We advised that the price displayed on the outside is R139.99 and she told us to dispute it with the store manager. We did as she advised, and the manager insisted that the price advertised on the outside was incorrect and she insisted that we pay the R179.90. We decided to write a complaint as if there is an error in the price, the supplier cannot insist that the consumer pay a higher price for the goods than the one displayed. If more than one price is displayed, I as the consumer cannot be required to pay the higher of the two prices displayed because of their mistake.
