MISLEADING ADVERTISING AND PROMOTION OF EXPIRING GOODS

At the end of November 2018 I purchased Animal Parade Vitamins for my son during the Black Friday Sale. All excitedly I purchased the vitamins, thought it was a great deal and would be sure to start it once he had completed his current vitamins. I had the vitamins in Dec and life continued. Fast forward to end of Jan only to see it's about to expire!!! IF SOMETHING WAS ABOUT TO EXPIRE IT SHOULD BE CLEARLY SPECIFIED!!! I contact them and the customer service is appalling tosay the least! All I get is, "oh that's the sell by date", and " this is for retail purposes and it can safely be used up to 3 months after that date"- NO it's not the sell by date, it's the Best before date as stated by the manufacturer on the bottle! No, I will not use a product that's legally stated as expired because you say it's ok. What if i had bought more? As a consumer it is up to me to decide when I will be using a purchased product, and it is up to me to decide whether I want to buy a product 2 months away from from expiry, a retailer does NOT get to make those decisions. As a consumer I should be provided with ALL the CORRECT information so that I may make an informed decision before I make a purchase.

They then tried to send me their Black Friday Banner T's and C's and stated that certain items were clearance stock- This was also incorrect, it only specified that some items are end-of-line products so quantities are limited. That in no way even implies clearance or close to expiry.

In addition they say they have a 30 day refund policy, but their Online Help and Support states:

Defective goods can be returned within 6 months of date of purchase if: • You have the original till slip • The goods have been used for their intended purpose and cared for as per the instruction manual

As far as I am concerned an expiring product is a defective product as it can not be used due to safety issues.

So, if you intend on buying into any of their "AMAZING DEALS" be aware that you are most likely buying defective, clearance, or expiring stock. Don't fall into the Kick-Start-2019 deals thinking you're getting a bargain. You not. They care about sales more than they do about the health and wellness of their clients. It's actually sad.
