Terrible experience and the perfect way to spoil a special day.

I'm writing to express my deep disappointment with the experience my wife and I had at the Lourensford spa over the weekend. As paying customers, we expected a level of service and professionalism that, unfortunately, was sorely lacking during our visit.

In celebration of my wife's birthday, I selected this establishment for what I hoped would be a memorable and rejuvenating experience. However, from the moment we arrived, it became evident that our expectations would not be met.

The initial welcome we received was far from welcoming. Instead of a warm greeting, we were met with what appeared to be annoyance for our slightly early arrival.

Despite booking the deluxe Valentine's duo package in advance, it seemed that our assigned the****** was not properly briefed on its contents. This resulted in a less-than-smooth start to our experience as I found myself having to explain the package details to her.

Furthermore, there was a discrepancy between the treatment options we selected and what was provided. We specifically requested a foot massage and sole treatment, yet we were surprised to find that a half-hearted pedicure was also included without our consent.

Additionally, the ambiance of the treatment room left much to be desired - the lack of adequate storage space for our belongings was particularly inconvenient.

The quality of the treatments themselves was disappointing. The massage lacked the skill and technique we anticipated especially given the price tag, the inconsistent pressure app**** was more painful than relaxing, the scalp massage was uncomfortable, lackluster and mediocre at best, and the foot treatment resulted in an injury to my wife's toe, which was completely unacceptable - the the****** nicked her under her toenail without even the slightest acknowledgement.

Afterward there was a notable absence of post-treatment courtesy, with no acknowledgment or expression of gratitude for our patronage - just two glasses of warm MCC on a platter in reception as an afterthought.

Our experience at Wellness in the Winelands Spa fell far short of our expectations and left us feeling deeply dissatisfied. My wife's special day was ruined and we strongly urge others to avoid this place.
