Exploding Steam bath from company that now claims to be in liquidation.

WFA installed a steam bath at my home in Cape Town in 2017. The steam generator supp**** was not the unit quoted in their tender. The unit overheated caught fire which we manage to extinguish before it destroyed the house. After inspecting the damage, they declined to replace the unit and advised that they were in liquidation. Yet there website is operational and they have clearly continued doing business under the same brand name.

Attached correspondence from me to them provides more detail: “ Dear Horst (Director WFA) Fire damage to WFA steam generator ü Thank you for your replacement quote R 126 500 Attachment ü The replacement is +/- 5 times the original cost ! Attachment ü I wish to express my serious concern with ALL the findings on site Attached Following my inspection of the property & perusal of all the correspondence · The item quoted on (COASTS) was approved by client’s professional team · The (COASTS) steam generator was never installed (Only the control panel) · The product on site which failed is (AMAZON) · Currently we have ruled out possible causes (Eskom spike / no municipal or other water supply) – No Fire on PC Board Our inspection & my understanding seems to point to 3 possibilities or combination of all 3 1. Failure of PC board relay to element – Stuck Closed pushing continuous 220 V to the element/s 2. Failure of PC board relay to solenoid – Stuck Closed preventing water input to the stainless steel holding box 3. Failure of the solenoid component - Stuck Closed preventing water input to the stainless steel holding box Most concerning was the ultimate failure of the steam generator to cut the power supply immediately to prevent an accident · I am unable to locate any correspondence from client/appointed professionals to approve this change of product · I am unable to locate any legal & accounting correspondence substantiating your claims of liquidation We await your urgent response in order to expedite a resolution to this matter”
