WE Geysers looks for reason to void warranty on Solartherm geysers

I installed an evacuated tubes solar system 4 years ago. It is a pumped system which makes use of 2 X 200L Solartherm geysers, manufactured by W.E Geysers. The tanks supposedly come with a 10 year warranty. The one tank is leaking at the hot water inlet (from panel) and I logged a claim with them. Their customer service is terrible to say the least but I want to focus my review on the warranty.

They asked me to take photos of the following: "Full geyser installation Position of the prv and tp valve Position of the vacuum breakers Mixing valve , Panels and SABS stickers showing 1307 Non return valve if pressure in unbalanced Geyser details"

I sent them 34 photographs as well as the Plumbing certificate of compliance I received from the installer.

Rather than looking at pictures of the leak they rather look for something in the installation that makes it not comply to the South African National Standards so that they can void the warranty! In my case the plumber unfortunately used a piece of polycorp (non-metal) pipe from the safety valve to the outside. Any plumber will tell you that this could not have caused the leak but they are only interested in voiding one's warranty.

I will never buy anything manufactured by this company ever again and I sincerely hope that this review will help someone out there dodge a bullet.
