Wheel Right By Weelee

Whenever I intend to make a significant capital purchase across a whole range of goods and commodities, I scan Hello Peter for reviews and in the process, I believe that over the years I have avoided a lot of pain and disappointment.

The exact process was followed when I came across a vehicle Weelee (Kempton Park) advertised in Autotrader. Scanned Hello Peter and was satisfied that I was dealing with a reputable motor vehicle dealer who scores a 10/10 under Trust Ratings.

Made contact with Weelee via Autotrader on Tuesday, 12 September 2023, and got to learn that Ntsakisi Mbhalati would be my Weelee Salesperson. Discussed with him the condition, etc. of the vehicle and got to believe that it would serve my needs provided it was in the condition Weelee claimed the vehicle was.

As I reside in KZN it was not possible to view the vehicle personally so I arranged for my brother-in-law to view the vehicle which he could only do this past Saturday. The salesperson kindly offered to take the vehicle to him to view and save him the trip on Saturday. Unfortunately, my brother-in-law was not able to accommodate such a viewing as he was under pressure at work to meet an audit deadline.

Informed the salesperson that Saturday would be the only possible viewing day and made the following arrangement (all via WhatsApp which means the proof is readily available to confirm): 1. I accepted that should the vehicle be sold before Saturday I would (in theory) be the loser - I was not prepared to pay a holding deposit nor sign an offer to purchase prior to viewing 2. that my brother-in-law would view the vehicle Saturday morning 3. that in the event that the vehicle was sold before Saturday morning, the salesperson would inform me thereof so that I in turn could inform my brother-in-law not to undertake the long journey to Kempton Park

I can guess you know where this bad review is heading.

When my brother-in-law arrived at Weelee not only was the salesperson not on duty the vehicle had already been sold on Friday!

Nice work Weelee 10/10 for Trust but 0/10 for something called professionalism, etiquette, and public relations which your company neither understands nor practises.

If the foregoing is not sufficient proof that public image is something Weelee gives scant regard to, then the fact that they did not respond to an email I sent yesterday informing them of their deplorable service and that I would post a bad review on Hello Peter unless I received a reply before close of business today ... none was received hence this post. Oh yes, the salesperson did give me a call and "asked what my issue was" as he had been informed that "there was an email" - I advised him to read the email and rang off.

Should you buy a vehicle from Weelee I cannot attest, but what I do know is that Weelee is nothing else but a second-hand car dealer when it comes to flogging cars with no respect to the time and effort potential customers have to go through to view vehicles prior to purchasing.

So Wheel right past Weelee would be my advice if you are not able to view a vehicle pronto!
