The winning bid was almost double what the dealer was ACTUALLY willing to pay, they prey on desperate people to make a bad decision in the moment.
So you put your car up for auction, the dealers bid on a price they want to pay, nothing compels those dealers to pay you that price or even anywhere near that price.
My vehicle went on auction and fetched a price of R80k, after driving all the way from jhb to pta the winning dealer offered me R55k, now i was willing to wiggle a bit on the price but that is way too much. What stops dealers from bidding very high for a vehicle ruining the chances for the other dealers to bid at a fair price and then that dealer can just low ball the customer after they arrive. Essentially sabotaging the whole process...
It's an auction with NO guarantees and lots of room for price manipulation.
I don't know how Weelee can solve this problem, it's a tough one but maybe start with a rating system on dealers that mess customers around.. My 10c
