More Time in Repairs Than on the Road – Very Frustrating Experience.
I am sharing my experience to warn potential customers and encourage them to do very thorough checks before purchasing from Weelee.
I purchased a vehicle from Weelee in March 2025, and unfortunately it has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing consumer experiences I have had.
Since purchase, the vehicle has spent more time undergoing repairs or standing unused than being in reliable working condition. Based on Netstar tracking reports and service records, the vehicle has been off the road for more than 140 days due to mechanical failures and repair-related downtime.
What makes this situation particularly concerning is that the vehicle was accompanied by a DEKRA report stating that no faults were identified prior to purchase. However, from shortly after taking delivery, the vehicle experienced repeated and ongoing mechanical issues.
The vehicle has been booked in multiple times for repairs, and despite this, faults have continued to reoccur. I have also been required to pay an excess of R5 500 on repairs claimed through the Motor Mechanical Plan, which is an additional financial burden for problems that have persisted since purchase.
Most recently, after being informed that parts had been replaced and collecting the vehicle from a repair centre, the check oil light came on within two days, and the vehicle began choking again. This was reported immediately, but responses and follow-up support have been extremely limited.
I was also presented with a further repair invoice of R8 450, which I have been told I may be responsible for, despite the vehicle having a long history of unresolved mechanical problems.
The most disappointing part of this experience has been the lack of consistent communication and effective after-sales support. Follow-ups often go unanswered, and despite multiple repair attempts and extensive downtime, there has been no satisfactory resolution.
Purchasing a vehicle is a significant financial commitment, and customers should reasonably expect reliability, transparency, and proper support when issues arise. Unfortunately, this has not been my experience.
I would strongly urge potential buyers to:
Carefully review all vehicle inspection reports,
Fully understand warranty, mechanical plan and excess costs,
Keep detailed records of all repairs and communication, and
Be cautious and conduct independent inspections where possible.
I am still attempting to resolve this matter and have formally requested that the vehicle be returned and costs refunded.
