Misclassification of Vehicle Sold to us

Be CAREFUL when you buy from Weelee.

After buying my vehicle at Weelee Centurion in June 2024, we wanted to trade the car in on a bigger vehicle beginning of the year, and was told that the Vehicle details that is on our settlement letter is not actually what the model of the vehicle is.

We went to Weelee personally with the information on Saturday 11 January 2025, with the little price board they normally have in the vehicles while on the floor which luckily stayed in the car with all the details on it. And I still have this in my possession. The sales team leader was luckily on duty and he confirmed that this was actually the case. He will get back to us after he addressed this with top management.

They sent 2 guys to come and check the car, and it was once again confirmed that the car is not the model it was sold to us. And that we definitely paid more than what we should have paid.

After numerous follow ups and calls the team leader just did not answer us again, I called from a different telephone number and he immediately answered, for the "new sale" I suppose, when I asked him why should I call from another number to get hold of you he simply responded that he actually doesn't know what to tell me. I do not blame him, because top management chose to ignore our case, and this guy was kind and understanding all along.

I asked him for his CEO's detail he could not give that to me.

I then talked to the online customer services agent and until today we have not receive a call or a message from Weelee to offer a solution. I have the transcript.

We have all the proof and have now decided to finally involve the Motor Industry Ombudsman of South Africa.

Please be careful when you buy from Weelee, they are not honest and do not do anything to remedy a situation which can actually been seen as an *****ulent transaction.

The sad part is this is the second car we bought from them. We will now go and get this car checked out as well.

After MIOSA got involved Weelee still decided to ignore them.

My husband made several call to them which is a Weelee Big problem as they don't answer calls unless you select the option that you want to buy a vehicle. Then they get excited to sell a car and answer.

We now got offered R10 000 on the 9th of July for the difference and they cannot give us a breakdown of how they calculated this.

MIOSA referred us to the National Consumer Commission to exercise our rights in terms of Section 71 of the CPA.
