Do Not Buy A Weele Car Before Reading This

I Bought a car at Weelee Centurion after seeing their adverts and reviews which made them look like a legit dealership such as SMG and Bidvest McCarthy. I saw no need to test drive the car since I thought they were legit. Little did I know I was buying a lemon, it has been a nightmare.

From the day the car was collected (17/08/2024) it just felt off. It felt like it was floating, when braking there was vibration, the cluster showed a warning message about the headlights just as I drove off the dealership, the exhaust smoke did not look right, it had a squeaky sound when driving. Yet the dekra report I was shown only had engine oil leak which I was assured was going to be fixed. After 3 weeks the car then started showing another error on the dashboard (Drivetrain error)

Since it was a Saturday and it was already late when the car was collected, first thing Monday morning I called Weelee and advised that there was a lot of issues with the car, they made it seem like it was something they’ll be able to have sorted fast and so I took the car to the workshop they recommended.

Fast forward, it has been 4weeks and 4 days since the car was collected, and it had problems from the first day it was collected, and more piled up. They replaced the front brake pads and discs. For the past 4 weeks we’ve been awaiting approval from management to pay for the suspension replacement (R18,270.05). Today I was told the dealership cannot pay for the spark plugs and ignition coils (R6,580.42) because they are “serviceable items” meanwhile I had strictly requested the car undergoes a full service before being sold to me to avoid such issues.

I then asked if Weelee would buy the car back from me, and guess what they said “no because the car is not roadworthy” these are the very same problems the car already had when it was sold to me, which made me to believe they actually have the Dekra reports fabricated.

My advice to anyone who has been flooded by adds on social media and influencers urging you to buy from Weelee claiming that they sell “high quality cars which are safe and secure “ DON’T they sell low quality cars which are definitely not safe, and they leave the onus to fix on you, it’s almost the same as buying a car from auction.
