Defective Vehicle & Ignored CPA Rights - 34 Days Unresolved
I purchased a 2016 Hyundai Veloster 1.6T from Weelee Centurion on 24 April 2026. Within three months (3,300km) of normal driving, the vehicle suffered a catastrophic engine failure, resulting in a windowed engine block.
I immediately notified Weelee and, exercising my strict rights under Section 56(2) of the Consumer Protection Act, formally elected to cancel the transaction and demanded a full refund. Weelee has now held my defective vehicle in their workshop for 34 days. Instead of honouring my statutory right to a refund, they are completely ignoring my formal demands.
I have not received a single response to my formal emails. My WhatsApp messages are either ignored or rep**** to days later, and my phone calls over the past few days have gone completely unanswered.
I am currently paying finance and insurance premiums on a broken car that they sold me, while their customer service team completely ghosts me. Buyers beware: based on my experience, their after-sales compliance with the Consumer Protection Act vanishes the moment the vehicle suffers a major failure.
