Addicts often lie, manipulate, and blame caregivers, yet the center takes their word as truth, alienating those who care most. I cared for a patient with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), a complex condition caused by severe childhood trauma. Despite providing Wedge Gardens with all his medical and psychological records, their 28-day program was far too short to address his needs. Rehabilitation must involve caregivers and teach addicts how to rebuild relationships with those who support them. While the center provides basic skills for better living, it lacks the expertise to handle serious psychiatric cases and prepare patients for life after treatment.
