Hi Peter. I am working for a company who is in contract with another firm that provides financial stability. I spoke to someone there who promised to call him sometime this week. Yesterday (8 September 2026) they called me to let me know that they haven't forgotten about me and that someone will still contact me. I received a call shortly thereafter and was under the impression that it is them. I told the guy (caller) that (name of contact) spoke to me and promised me this call. I gave them all my details including my ID and bank account number and only realised that it is not them when he read the conditions to me. I then send them an email to inform them that I made a mistake and asked them not to deduct their fee which the caller said is R800 from my account. This morning i received a response saying that they are still debiting my account with R885 (now more than quoted). It doesn't matter how much they charge I am not willing to pay them anything and will take this up with my lawyer if they do not respond with a positive email. The person also called me from a private cell phone number.
