We Move U
On 22/9/21 We Move U did our move from Klerksdorp to Hartenbos, at first the truck was late, then the driver reversed into the gate post breaking the light and interkom and damaging the post. There were no trolleys on the truck, so my gardener, my wife and myself had to help carrying stuff to the truck, as there were only 3 guys. I had to request the driver/packer a few times to cover some of the items with blankets(which they had plenty off) Some of the boxes which were clearly marked 'glass, handle with care, this side up', were packed upside down. We had to leave a number of potplants which were on the inventary, because it was to heavy to take without trolleys. I also requested that some of the top heavy items be tied to the sides, and I was told that they do have rope and will tie it, which I only saw was never done when the truck was open at the destination. It was a sight for sore eyeswhen the backdoor of the truck was opened, items ie pots and furniture lying against each other, mostly with scaffing marks, some beyond repair. I phoned the owner, Gert Pienaar a few times complaining about the state of the matter, but he only said he will find out from the driver, never came back to me. Good luck to the few future customers.

I will keep my reply short and factual so not to bore anyone reading up on We Move U.
Firstly I on behalf of all We Move U staff would like to apologize for the unpleasant moving experience that you had.
Unknown to most moving house is the second most stressful event that any person will experience during their lifetime. No 1 being divorce. We also know that not all individuals react the same to such a stressful situation.
All our staff are constantly made aware of this fact and we really try to make sure that all our customers experience moving day with the least amount off stress.
So yes our truck was late, a full 20 minutes late. After doing the 300km trip to you he was TWENTY minutes late. The agreed time was 12oclock as per our WhatsApp message the previous day and our truck arrived 20 minutes late. This is time stamped on our tracking units and the time off your call to me. FACT. The legal speed of these trucks are 80km/h and a 20 minute delay is possible if JHB traffic is more than average on that day. We do apologize for the 20 minute delay.
You then called me to claim that our driver reversed into the gate pole causing damage.
I immediately called the driver to asked what went wrong …. who assured me that all is good and no damage was caused. he indicated that moving day is very stressful and that he will handle the situation to the best of his abilities.
In FACT your gate did not want to close when you pressed the remote button. You then accused our driver that he MUST have reversed into the gate pole. You then called someone to come and assess the fault and he repositioned the battery to make better contact where after the gate functioned correctly again. FACT
I do not see your need in falsely claiming damage. Our driver did not damage the pole, nor the light or the intercom. After reviewing the rear camera footage I can clearly see that the truck did not make contact with any part of the gate.
The trolley ….. Yes that specific team did not have a trolley. After many years of experience our loading teams prefer not to use the trolleys as it is very dependent a 100% level and smooth surface. Using these trolleys takes much longer and causes more damage due to wheels getting caught on uneven surfaces thus causing items to fall of the trolley. But you are right, there might be one item in a household that requires a trolley and for that we made sure that all teams from hereon has a trolley in the truck.
Yes that team consisted of THREE helpers , that is the maximum legal amount of occupants that any truck is allowed to carry on South African roads. Allowing extra personnel to travel in the back of a truck is against the law in South Africa. They are trained and experienced helpers that are with us for almost 10 years and experts at their tasks.
The concrete pot plants with shave marks..... yes after traveling from Klerksdorp to Hartenbos on our roads the pots did manage to shave some paint of where they touched . Ideally the pots should have been crated .
Here I would like to add a general note that al furniture and household items are at their safest in your home on the spot where they stand day in and day out.
But on moving day they are exposed to being carried in and out of your old and new home, carried in and out of the moving truck. So on this day they are exposed the more risk than any other day.
For this we suggest that customers spend just a few rands extra in protecting their household items. a roll of 100m bubble wrap is on average R300 to cover most of the items that need it. Bed bags and furniture bags are R30 and make a big difference in assuring your furniture's safe arrival at your new home. We do supply these and at a small labor charge we even do the wrapping if required .
