We buy your car is BS

webuyyourcar.co.za website is pretty slick, which is misleading because the service behind it is terrible.

Did an online estimate, then made a "VIP evaluation appointment with Oliver Flannery", which suspiciously was at a local car dealership (Thorp Plumstead).

When I arrived for the "VIP evaluation" (lol), the person who I was supposed to meet was not there. OK so that's bad form already.

A salesperson at the dealership then "handled" my evaluation by extracting and entering in their "system" too much of my personal details, then inspected the car, then promised that someone would get back to me within a few days.

Of course after a week there was no message or feedback from webuyyourcar (strike two), so I emailed webuyyourcar to ask what happened. They responded saying they "recommend you follow up with the partner dealership".

At this point I wrote them off as being a bunch of uselesses and not interested in providing any kind of service or offer. In fact the whole scheme seems to be devised to extract contact details from potential customers for the dealership.

Ironically I'm still getting marketing emails from webuyyourcar offering a free valuation inspection of my car.

Avoid this bunch of time wasters at any cost.
