Very poor upholstery workmanship

Very poor upholstery workmanship and unresolved deposit

I found Washiela Solomons Interiors through The Best Thing Ever (BTE), where the business was listed for curtains, furniture and upholstery in Cape Town.

In my experience, the workmanship was way below average. The dining chairs were finished inconsistently, with noticeable differences in the seams, joins and overall finish. The small sofa was lumpy and badly stuffed, with loose filling placed directly inside the cushions instead of proper inners. The occasional chairs also did not match the light natural wood finish I had requested.

After seeing the completed work, I stopped the remaining items and asked for some of my deposit to be returned because that portion of the work had not been done. The money was not returned, and I was told that deposits were not refundable.

I attempted to submit my negative experience to BTE, but the owner told me that this type of feedback was not allowed there and that I should post it on HelloPeter instead. This was particularly frustrating because I found and selected the business through BTE, not through HelloPeter.

Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend Washiela Solomons Interiors for upholstery or furniture work.
