Horrod service and horrid business owner

Wow. I'm not usually one to do this but today my husband, 10 week old babygirl and I had a really terrible experience.

We decided to have our bakkie cleaned at the car wash in the ba*****t parking at Walmer Park, have been there many times. We booked a more expensive valet and off we went.

When we left Walmer Park we saw the terrible job they did with the cleaning (didn't check under the roof as we were loading in baby etc.), pics attached. Then as we came to the roundabout just outside Walmer Park (planning on turning around to take it up with them), suddenly smoke was coming through our dashboard as wires were on fire in the bonnet. The bakkie died right there and we were left in a panic getting baby out of the vehicle etc. A kind gentleman ran to get water and put the fire out.

Long story short, my husband called the owner of the car wash to tell him what had happened and the state of the inside of the vehicle.

To which he said, he absolutely doesn't care, he's 100% going to brush it off, it has nothing to do with him, not his problem.

I don't care about a refund, I don't care about the fact that their service probably caused the car issue, I don't even care about the obvious terrible job they did with the cleaning.

What I do care about is the absolute lack of humanity, pride and disgusting attitude the owner had. He didn't even ask whether we're okay, offer to help or offer a refund for their terrible service. Absolutely no care at all, very arrogantly dismissing my husband.

I'm sorry, but people and businesses in PE should be better than that. I wil NEVER, EVER support them again (have been for YEARS) and would advise people to stay away, as it's not the first time they've broken things in our cars, taking no responsibility.

When a business treats their customers with such lack of respect and humanity, they don't deserve to be in business!!!

You're better off with a dirty car than supporting them 👌.
