Making adoption difficult.

<p>We have tried every SPCA an most animal rescue centers within a 450km range of our home to rescue/adopt a young dog.</p> <p>We have been declined by all due the fact that we currently have a 6yr old Boorboel, which is considered a "dangerous" breed.</p> <p>Having just had a home inspection by Woodrock Animal Rescue NPO, our application to rescue a pup was denied, even though our animals are in stunning condition, the quality of life that they have is brilliant, and the are lovingly cared for.</p> <p>The reasoning for the denial was " a 2yr old little boy is not mature to look after a dog", "we want the dog to sleep indoors", "putting the pup in a home with a Boerboel is not going to work".</p> <p>What ******* is that?</p> <p>Obviously a 2yr old is not mature to look after a pup, that's where the parents come into the picture. the 2yr old is TWO, it's not expected to be mature enough to be the sole providor/caretaker of an animal.</p> <p>Sleeping outside/inside? It was indicated that the dog would sleep outside if it's fair weather, and indoors in foul weather, in a kennel, under a roof. how could this not be good enough?</p> <p>The "home inspector" herself indicated that the Boerboel was " such a sweet dog". This is due to the fact thatit's raised as part of the family and it IS a sweet dog. she was able to see the interaction of it with my sone and with herself.</p> <p> </p> <p>"Getting a little dog for my kids" does not mean that they need to get jobs , and are exptected to start being mature enough to be the sole caretaker to the animal.</p> <p> </p> <p>Come on Woodrock, you are forcing us to make the problem worse. We are going to be forced to go to a petshop or a whould-be "breeder".</p> <p>We are going out of our way to try to get a rescue. Open your eyes, if the existing animals are healthy, happy, well cared for, and a family is activly trying to make the life of another animal better, why would you come up with BS like the excuses given to me.</p> <p> </p>
