I fully agree with Xandre in the previous review. Woodrock (Stella) knows all about the staff taking the donations first before then sending them to the popups. As an ex volunteer at the popups, I witnessed both Jacqui and her daughter Mia taking a dinner set, dog clothes, electronic goods and putting them in their cars. They are not embarrased about it and even asked one of my friends to load it in their boot. Clothes are taken by the staff and sold at the Diepsloot taxi rank. I am happy to go to the NPO ombudsman to testify and even show pictures. So they cannot say how honest they are. The 5* reviews were all done on the same day at the same time by their own staff. While they do help pther charities (this is true), it is only with donations they do not want or need. Maybe an investigator should go look in Stella, Jacqui, Mia, Noel, Soliam and of course Rory's houses. Then we will see who has the right to be angry

26 Apr 2024, 14:54From humble beginnings to one of the largest and oldest pro-life Shelters in the country, it is an unfortunate and ugly reality that a shelter such as Woodrock will fall prey to ********, disgruntled individuals and people who will not always agree with or understand our practices, policies and the severe logistics which are required to run an operation on this scale successfully. Our mission is to be the voice of the voiceless and to complete families by trying to fill the emptiness in a heart which can only be filled by the pure soul of an animal and it would take away from our vision and mission to respond to each individual who feels offended by the practicalities required to make Woodrock a success. As our secondhand shop is not operational in the same manner as a regular retail store, it takes an army to provide the logistics required to successfully operate the pop-ups, including transport of suitable animals, providing second-hand products to generate revenue, receive donations, and provide logistics to ensure that everyone and everything is returned to Woodrock safely and securely, as our farm is our only secure base of operations. This means we ask and secure alternative transportation for product donations and we entrust this often to our trustees, employees and volunteers, and large items, such as furniture, pose a special headache, but are exceptionally well placed in terms of conversion to cash donations, thus our previous replies that we will never say "No, thank you" to any donation.No product donations are handed out to any person, associated with Woodrock or not. All donations are either used by ourselves, or converted to cash donations to the benefit of our animals in any manner possible. Woodrock cannot operate, indeed, would not have survived for these many decades, if it was our intention to enrich ourselves to the detriment of our animals. We ask you, for our animals, to please remember that any issue has 3 sides, just like a coin. Heads, Tails, and the thin ridge of truth, and we ask our supporters to not be swayed by reviews which are not only subjective, but are often based on misconception and even, horror of horrors, personal agendas. Please continue to visit us, speak to us. We are always willing to answer any questions our loyal support base has, but public bashing is neither lawful, nor in the interest of our animals.
