Adoption process
I was very disappointed after recently visiting woodrock animal rescue. My experience there was far different to when I adopted my 2 dogs about 4 and 5 years back. Upon entering the dog section I was instructed to complete an adoption form when I didnt understand why they couldn't pull up records of the previous adoptions. Furthermore I felt very unwelcomed where my boys who love dogs were even hesistant to go close to the puppies because the people were so unfriendly. I proceeded to the cattery as my son also wanted a kitten and was told that we would need to adopt 2 kittens. The policy of 2 kittens doesnt make sense because you may end up disregarding genuine animal *****s and are able to give them a home they deserve. I will say that the people at the cattery were very welcoming and friendly. There are other catteries that I have been in contact with that haven't forced me to take 2 kittens.
An adoption completed four or five years ago cannot replace a new application. Families move, children grow, circumstances change, animals pass away and new pets join the home. A fresh assessment is therefore essential.
Our puppy procedures require staff supervision to protect our puppies.
Our kitten-pair policy supports healthy companionship, play and social development.
These protocols are carefully considered and must be respected. Your review appears to focus solely on what you wanted, without considering Woodrock’s duty as the animals’ home and protector.
We appreciate your positive words about our cattery team.
