Gift voucher

We were given a gift voucher for R1000.00 as a gift. On arrival at Wang Thai we informed them that we had a gift voucher. At the end of the meal we presented the gift vouch for payment of a bill that came to R639.00 and we're told that sorry if you don't spend the full amount the balance is forfeited. We did not expect any money back but to put the balance on the voucher for later use would have been nice or at least to have been pre-warned about the policy. The lady in charge was quite unpleasant about the whole thing and the sad part about it all is that it is a restaurant that we go to fairly regularly. We left feeling that the policy is dishonest and if that is their position it should be stated on the voucher so that we have a choice. The car guard outside would have enjoyed a hot meal.
