Poor Service

On the 19th of May 2019 I bought an HP printer for R1387.50.

1. This printer did not come with the cable that connects the printer to the laptop via usb port. Called Bidvest Waltons about this, they opened another printer only to find that the packaging was similar. I told them in my history of buying printers I have never bought a printer without a cable that connects the printer to the pc.

They contacted a person who had bought 2 of the same printers that I had bought and he confirmed that he got the cable in question when he bought his 2 printers. Thanks to him I was given the cable, few days later I am told to bring back that cable because the supplier confirmed that the printer does not come with the cable and one needs to buy it separately.

2. When I tried to install the printer on my Lenovo E570 Windows 10 pc it failed, I had to get another machine to install the drivers on for it to start working, the machine i used was a asus zenbook.

3. Had the printer for exactly 10 days and within those 10 days the printer started failing to print full pages, all print jobs would be cut off towards the footer, tried all kinds of settings, tried custom settings, tried A4, tried letter tried all I could think off and nothing worked. I got annoyed by how poor my experience with this printer has been. So when I got the call to return the cable I just thought you know what, might as well just return the printer because from the get go the user experience with the printer and the shop that sold the printer has been poor and not up to par so I returned the printer and the cable and whatever came with the printer and asked for a refund.

Luckily I still had the slip and the slip read as follows,"We will gladly refund or exchange any item in a saleable condition within 14 days provided you have the original till slip.

The shop took the printer but did not process a refund because they had to contact the supplier and store manager, I was told that the supplier refused to take the device so the store refuses to take the printer as well because nobody else would buy it because it has been used and they would make a loss because the supplier is refusing to take back the printer.

I found this very upsetting because the store should have a relationship with the supplier that factors in such situations but this particular store seemed perturbed by request.

I would kindly like my money back please because the device sold to me did not meet the expectation and for the shop to expect me to return the device un-opened makes no sense, how else would I have known that the printer prints poorly.
