Dishonest repair center

I sent in my paper shredder that I purchased from waltons in for repairs. I got a response from Waltons who advised that the device was beyond economical repair as the entire pc board would need to be replaced and would cost around R4500. I bought a new shredder from Waltons and they also sent back the old broken one. Out of curiosity I opened the device a few weeks later and although I have no technical knowledge I did notice that one of the connectors on the main board had come lose. I plugged the connector back into the board and plugged the shredder into the wall. It worked absolutely perfectly. I find it quite sad that the company would rather be dishonest and not even attempt to repair the device and rather conned me into buying a new device. I learnt a valuable lesson about trusting companies.
