Wakefields Estate Agent Pinetown for R20

I rented a place in Clermont that I got through Wakefields Pinetown with an agent named Linda. I paid the deposit and all was well. The lease clearly stated that my deposit would be held in an interest bearing account. I had a lease of a year and stayed the whole duration and beyond. At my exit which was drama free I was told that I should ask the landlord for the interest and it is at their discretion whether I should get it or not AND most probably its about R20. My deposit was R2600 and I stayed for 2 years and 3 months now that R20 math does not add up. Nevertheless even if its R20, a lease is supposed to be a legally binding document that must be honoured and its about principle. Just because people are renting in townships does not make them illiterate and uneducated, and accept any condescending, half cooked explanations. I resent Wakefields Pinetown for that. Its not about the "R20" but the principle of professionalism and ethics.
