No water in the entire block of flats due to Wakefields Property Management
South Africans have to take a lot in regards to Service Delivery and most of it is pretty much out of our control. So when your property agent also lets you down it is completely unacceptable.
My building has about 64 units, made up of elderly people, people with young children, the working class etc. Since yesterday we have had no water. The water has been cutoff by the municipality due to non-payment. As residents of the building we pay our levies on time as failure to do so will result in penalties.and yet here we sit with no water. It’s not right.
Where are the penalties to Wakefields? Where is our compensation? They didn’t even provide us with water last night.
We never received communication that this was going to occur. We didn’t even get a courtesy mail after the shut off, to let us know what was happening or that they are working on it. Instead the agent appointed to our building just ignores our calls and won’t address the residents.
This is appalling. The residents of the building are extremely upset. This is our homes and we shouldn’t be treated like this.
We have no idea when the water will be switched on or how they plan on resolving the issue. We are looking at potentially going the weekend without water. To the owners of Wakefields, you should appoint people that know what their doing. Don’t hide, face the residents, restore our water and most importantly Apologize. Just do better.
