Wailako Guest House debacle
Wailako Guest House is advertised through Booking.com along with beautiful photos of the facilities - well I booked and paid for 5 nights R6000 in full and when I arrived there on the day I was shocked at how the place smelt and looked compared to those beautiful pictures on the website - I was too embarrassed to say anything just said I needed to think about it and left immediately to find alternative accommodation even though I had already paid in full - I thought Booking.com would protect me and make sure I was refunded considering the fact that the whole website photos of Wailako were totally deceiving and Booking.com advertise for them - surely Booking.com should make sure the places they promote are up to standard and if not patrons such as myself should be warned - I have not received any refund to date - the owner was so angry with me - got very personal, she accused be of being elitist - her place was filthy and smelly on entry and then when I was shown up the very cramped stairway to the bedroom and bathroom area I knew I could not and would not stay there - I am still waiting for my refund - I paid Wailako through Booking.com on the 19th January R6000 - trusting that the place would be as depicted in the photos and it was a big disappointment - I arrived at around 4 on Saturday 23rd January only to be inconvenienced by having to find another place to stay - I don't know Cape Town - I was tired and had to spend more money at another Guest House.
