Waggies Dog food Mouldy

I am part of an animal rescue organisation involved in taking care of rescued and abandoned dogs and cats until they are able to be suitably re-homed. On numerous occasions we are blessed with donations of dog and cat food. A recent donation was an 8 Kg bag of Waggies Dog food which I was very grateful for. I have seen it advertised at Pick and Pay and Checkers most times on a special. On opening the bag ( it was completely sealed) I noted the terrible smell of mould. On looking into the bag I noted a green mouldy substance on the pellets. I subsequently went to Pick and Pay and Checkers to exchange it and neither would do so as I didnt have a receipt of purchase. I tried on numerous occasions to reach the supplier (*** Gourmet Industries) but the call never goes through, no other contact details are available. The batch number stated on the bag is 9930 and expiry 05/11/2024 a year from now. It saddens me to think that manufacturers can continue selling to unsuspecting customers. I definitely wont be buying Waggies dog food. Rather buy from reputable manufactures with contactable details that you know will replace goods if there is a problem.
