VW Trichardt cherize service assistant
The VW in Trichardt is honestly one of the worst customer experience I have ever experienced and I assure you when I say I am not the first person to say this as I have friends with similar experiences, especially if you are a person of colour. During May 2020, I brought my vehicle in for a repair (the sunroof refuses to close) and they required a permit to prove that I was an essential worker. The permit I had was only available in soft copy as my employer emailed it to me and I do not have facilities to print it. Mind you for me to travel from my place of residence to the dealership is 21KMs single way and I had to take the day off from work to travel there. Cherize refused to assist me as I did not have a hardcopy of the permit despite my numerous attempts to try explain that I do not have a printer and that I have it in my emails. She refused to assist me and she was extremely rude in doing so. Subsequent to that the government announced level 4 of the lockdown and car dealerships were allowed to assist customers without permits. I returned and again she sent me back saying my vehicle does not qualify as a breakdown as it is still drivable. Again she was extremely rude. The lack of transformation at that dealership makes it very difficult for customers of colour to engage with the dealership as they are extremely rude even in explaiing why they are refusing to assist you. VW needs to intervene as unfortunately their customers are diverse therefore inevitable that they will have to encounter cherize if they are from the TEKSA area.
