Dissapointing experience at VW Tavcor

My vehicle went in for its service end of February 2023 (6 months). The feedback received after the service was that my my brake pads were still fine and there was no need to replace them during the service. My brakes started to shudder recently and I booked an appointment at the same dealership. 1 Year hasn't passed (only 6 months) and I didn't drive 15,000km in total since my service. I have an extended maintenance plan but the feedback received was that only the brake pads will be covered not the brake disks which also had damage and that I need to pay for them in my personal capacity. Really dissatisfied with the service received from Tavcor. Once I realized there was something wrong with the brakes I immediately booked an appointment. I find it really dissapointing that information was provided by a professional service provider after a service 6 months ago that everything appears to be in order with the brakes and now I am to liable for damages suffered before the next service (one year or 15,000km). Why was the brake pads then not replaced during the initial service in February?
