Clutch

I took my car to be repaired for clutch then I received my car back after paying plus minus R25k including other repairs, clutch alone I had to pay r18k then few week after I received my car I had a clutch problem then I took it back, I was told that there was a cable that they didnt insert it correctly. Then in 5 months time I experienced the same problem of a clutch my car decided to not go into gears without any warning and I took it back to VW for check up what was the problem I was told the it was a clutch so I have to pay R18k in order to be repaired, I fought them but the refuse to fix my car, I was told the clutch warranty has ended. Is this fair?
