just now New My VW AMAROK ULTIMATE V 6 broke down on the October 21st 2026. Road side assist towed the vehicle to the nearest VW Dealership( Bidvest McCarthy VW, Annlin) The next day I phoned to find out what went wrong as this vehicle is still under "Factory Warrantee" This is where the fun started. They are stripping the engine to search for the fault cause the timing chain jumped the gears. 2 days later and 6 days late and 11 days later they were still searching for the problem. At this stage the engine was now completely out. Then on day 12 they told my the camshaft broke. This part had to be ordered from overseas as VW South Africa has no parts. This also ( according to the terms and conditions) place me in a position of getting a rental vehicle as this part is not available and I did nothing to contribute to this break down. There is NO communication from McCarthy VW unless I phone them. Got SA VW involved and they are net really bothered. My application for a rental was "DECLINED" due to the fact that Bidvest McCarthy has internal problems and until they sort that out I've only got a fat finger from them. Hopefully I'll have my Vehicle back before Christmas but I am not holding my breath...I might suffocate. I have never seen so much excuses and ******** in my life. VW is not a vehicle to buy or own...you will cry big tears as it is guaranteed it will break down and then you'll meet all these " professional's" to deal with !!!!!!!!!! What a shame
