VW Master Cars Menlyn - Bad service, bad cars, bad attitude
When i was younger all my father drove was VW, he had trust for the brand and so did I. Growing up all i wanted was a VW and now that i have one i do not want it anymore. We buy cars from massive dealerships like this to avoid silly issues and those that do not understand customer service at all but i guess this cannot be avoided at VW Master Cars Menlyn. This is an ongoing issue since November 2018 when i purchased my car, on the day it was dropped off the sales person, Pieter (who misinformed me on the warranty that active on this car)took me through the features of the car via the screen on the dashboard, when he left the battery died due to this and when asked to check the batter i was told it is 70% and will be recharged when my service is done, about a week after the supposed recharge i was left stranded at a mall due to the battery dying. The car itself had no scratch and dent done prior to me receiving it either.
That same day the battery issue was reported i also told them about a weird noise i hear when changing gears, after assessing the noise a new clutch was ordered in December and received in Jan and no one bothered to call me to have this replaced, i had to call in to inquire on the status of the part and when is it going to be installed. The service manager named Bennie is by the worst when it comes to dealing with a client and knowing what customer service is, when i mentioned that i will be going to VW Head Offices and Hello Peter with this issue he threatened to not helped if i did and i didn't do it because i needed help as i use my car daily to work and this noise did not seem normal in comparison to other cars like mine. The clutch was finally replaced in May but the noise was still there and it didn't change at all. VW requested i come to them 3 times prior only to have a 5 min conversation with me and then send me away, the VW is 50kms (100kms to and fro) away from which i have mentioned to them that if they want to chat call me do not make me drive so far for nothing. I went to VW Master Cars Menlyn for the 4th time where their clutch expert, Arend, told me that this noise is normal due to clutch deviation and there is nothing VW can do about this. I requested that this be sent to me in writing via the Dealer Principal, Jaun, however they refused to do this and i need to know why.
I got a second opinion on the noise and as per that RMI approved person the noise is not normal and needs to be looked at. No one is assisting me with this at all and i have logged this with VW headoffices as a complaint as i have been waiting Chris (Karen Gethan is his superior) from VW head offices in JHB to call me back since last week with answers but i feel as if this has been overlooked and swept under the mat. I use my car daily and i plan on keeping this car but this is an issue that has come from the dealership when i purchased the car to which they refuse to sort out.
I have email trails of correspondence sent to all managers including the Dealer Principal but these guys clearly do not know what they are doing if they cannot sort this out.
