********* and dishonest
To whom it may concern
Good day,
Additionally, kindly note, briefly, my disappointment and dissatisfaction.
In putting the below into context, bear in mind that I am and have been a loyal customer of VW over several years and furthermore, I have bought 4 cars from VW in the past 6 years.
In November 2015, I bought a 1.6 Polo comfort line 2011 Model from VW Menlyn Mastercars (sales person was Max). They assured me that the vehicle had a full service record and that the vehicle had not been in any accident(s).
As a loyal client, I trusted them and took their word, above and beyond this, as I knew that VW Mastercars are not allowed to sell a motor car on false pretence, I assumed everything would be done ‘above water’ with all requisite precautions and due diligence performed in its entirety.
Upon receiving my car, the car started giving me problems within 2 days, as such I took it back to get attended to and identify any problems being experienced. Within the two years that I drove the car, it cost me over R15 000 in service fees and maintenance, all due to the fact that I was given false information by VW Menlyn.
I learned that the car has been in a major accident and had no indication of a service track record up to 97 000 km, which was the odometer reading when I purchased the vehicle. I traded the vehicle in at VW Hatfield. VW Hatfield did a rough evaluation and gave me R130 000 for the vehicle. Today when VW Hatfield did a full inspection on the vehicle, they found that the vehicle was in a major accident with no service record up until my purchase date in 2015. They phoned me to come see me, and said they have to deduct roughly about R50 000 on its trade in because of the condition the vehicle is in. Subsequent to this, I have to cough up another R50 000 due to VW Menlyn being dishonest, *********, **********, duplicitous and more so, unprofessional.
I would like VW SA to please take this further if the branch is unable to handle this internally, because this is wretched and I am quite aggravated by the treatment I have endured over this.
I expect VW Menlyn, to either refund me R50 000 in its entirety to finance my new vehicle, above and beyond this, I expect a written and verbal apology with amenities for the distress I have had to endure regarding the vehicle over the past 2 years.
I also expect that my services be covered after my service plan has expired on my new vehicle, because had not been for VW Menlyn's dishonesty and untruthfulness, none of this would have happened.
I do wait for the for a favourable response.
Regards,
