Poor Service

On the 29th of November 2017 I was at VW Menlyn delivering my car for service. I then decided to view cars on the premises with the view to trade in my current vehicle and get a newer version. Whilst viewing the cars on the floor, I was approached by a sales rep (M.Ndlovu). I then saw a car that I was interested in. He requested that I furnish him with a settlement fee, which I duly requested from the bank and emailed to him that very same day 29 November 2017. He promised that I would get a quote/breakdown of the price of the car. On the 5th of November 2017, I then submitted all the paperwork needed when buying a car.

I was then told I would be contacted by a sales rep (L. Du Plessis) she then informed me of the price and the proposed instalment. I then requested that she email me documentation that shows the breakdown of what the proposed instalment/payment includes. I was old that "I will email the document shortly” and that shortly became the daily song (working day). I was even phoned by a manager (forgot his name) who promised that I would get the breakdown documents that very same day and still no document was emailed.

On the 11th of December 2017 when I called I was told that the lady who raises the quotes was not in the office (because of FICA processes) and the quote would be emailed that particular day, I questioned why I was never informed of that beforehand.

On the 13th of December 2017, I was curtly or should I say unceremoniously cut on the phone by L. du Plessis, trying to indicate to her she had emailed me my current car warranty rather than the quotation requested for. I then emailed her and indicated that I was not happy with the service given as I could not understand why it takes so many days to get a quote. I was then (strangely) told that the very same gentleman who told me they could not raise the quote for me because of FICA was the very same person to raise the quote for me. I was eventually emailed a document that gave me the price of the vehicle (and did not include the proposed instalment). The car was eventually offered to somebody the, what was my crime (requesting for documentation that is within my right as a potential buyer.

I feel that the communication or lack of it disadvantaged me, I believe I was within my rights to request documentation that showed me what I would be signing up for. But it seems that all the personnel were just concerned about getting the top dollar. If they had offered me something else within my reach it would have been better, rather than lie to me and withhold information from me. I was promised quality but given shoddy service.

Regards
