VW IS A NIGHTMARE
A petrol attendant accidentally put petrol into my diesel car. The owner of the Sasol garage then drained the fuel out of the car and said it was fine to drive. The following day I took it to VW Hatfield because it had obvious mechanical problems. After VW diagnosed it they claimed that it was the timing belt that was worn out. But I had just done an EXPENSIVE major service the previous year and they never picked that up. A week ago I then paid over R5000 to replace the belt with a new one. They said they also fixed the timing on the car.
I had to take an uber to go back home and to collect the car the following day because they said they don't have transport for me. A day later after taking it to VW, it still idled with the same noise as before. I told VW about it and the technician. They said I must take the car back to them for another diagnosis, BUT I HAVE TO PAY for it.
Apart from that issue, There's still a dashboard faulty light problem that I've had for the last 2 years since they started servicing my car. I've complained about that since and they've never done or responded to anything about it.
VW is the most unreliable and frustrating service provider. I'll think twice before I buy another VW.
